App Store screenshot sizes for 2026

Every required dimension for the Apple App Store and Google Play this year — plus a free mockup preview so you can see your screenshot in a device frame before you upload anything.

12.9″ iPad Pro (older generations)2048 × 2732 px4:3Accepted via 13″ set

You can upload up to 10 screenshots per device set and per localization. PNG or high-quality JPEG, no transparency. The 6.9″ set is the one Apple requires for every iPhone app; smaller sizes are generated from it unless you upload custom sets.

Google Play sizes

Google Play is more flexible: any dimension between 320 px and 3840 px per side works, as long as the aspect ratio stays between 16:9 and 9:16. In practice, matching your iPhone 1290 × 2796 px set works well for both stores.

Try it: free mockup preview

Five rules for screenshots that convert

1

Lead with the outcome, not the feature

Your first two screenshots appear in search results. Write headlines about what the user achieves ("Dinner planned in 30 seconds"), not what the screen contains ("Recipe list view").

2

Design at the largest size, export down

Apple scales the 6.9″ set down to smaller iPhones automatically. Submit the largest required size and let App Store Connect generate the rest.

3

Keep text readable at thumbnail size

Screenshots are shown tiny in search results. If your headline is not readable at roughly 300 px wide, make it bigger.

4

Use a device frame and a real background

A bare screenshot floats in white space. A device frame with a brand-coloured background looks intentional and lifts conversion.

5

Stay consistent across the set

Same background, same typography, same frame on every screenshot. One story told left to right: problem, key features, result.

Skip the resizing entirely

NorthPitchUI captures your website or app, frames it for every device, writes the captions and exports the full App Store and Google Play set in one click — plus a seven-slide pitch deck if you need to sell the idea first.
